About Tokusetsu Bosemmotei

The IJN called converted anti-submarine nets layers "Tokusetsu Bosemmotei". Their main task was to lay and maintain anti-submarine nets with mines, to patrol and to attack the submarines. Seven merchant ships were used as Tokusetsu-bosemmotei between 1937 and 1945.
