About Tokusetsu Hokakumotei

The IJN called converted indicator nets layers "Tokusetsu Hokakumotei". Their main task was to lay indicator nets, to patrol and to attack submarines. Forty four merchant ships were used as Tokusetsu-hokakumotei between 1937 and 1945. "Chofuku Maru" was removed from the navy list before the outbreak of the Pacific War.
