Please note that the list below is not official. In my private view, the Army divided its vessels into two categories of Sempaku and Shutei. Sempaku are ships, which transport personnel and munitions, or support ships such as tugs or water supply ships. Shutei are weapons, which are mass-produced on the basis of prototypes.
For the former, I referred to "Showa Zosen Shi" published by Hara Shobo in 1977 for categorising. Then I added ships that had special duties such as A/A ships and Hospital Ship to it. (* Showa Zosen Shi means history of shipbuilding in Showa era (1926-).
For the latter, I referred to table of "Kaiun Kizai no Meisho, Kubun, Ruibetsu narabini Ki(Hi)mitsu toriatsukai ni kansuru ken rikugun ippan ni tucho" (JACAR: C01007870400). (* Kaiun Kizai..... means a notice to Army in general regarding titles, categories, classification and secret grade of maritime transport equipments.)
