Tokusetsu Suijokibokan
About Tokusetsu-suijokibokan
The IJN called converted seaplane tenders "Tokusetsu-suijokibokan". Their task was to carry on sea-planes and to act as movable flont-line base. Ten merchant ships were used as Tokusetsu-suijokibokan between 1937 and 1945. "Kagu Maru", "Kinugasa Maru" and "Noshiro Maru (Noshirogawa Maru)" were removed from the navy list before the outbreak of the Pacific War.
