About Tokusetsu Zatsuekisen

The IJN called auxiliary harbour ships "Tokusetsu-zatsuekisen". Their task was to engage in miscellaneous harbour service at suitable naval departments. Only "Sumiyoshi Maru" was used as Tokusetsu-zatsuekisen, but she was removed from the navy list before the outbreak of the Pacific War. "Sumiyoshi Maru" was a prototype of the Navy built Official No. 3495 type power supply ships.
