Tokusetsu Byoinsen

About Tokusetsu Byoinsen

The IJN called converted hospital ships "Tokusetsu-byoinsen". Their task was to provide fleets with medical care and medical goods. Six merchant ships and one detained ship were used as Tokusetsu-byoinsen between 1937 and 1945. "Tachibana Maru" was removed from the navy list before the outbreak of the Pacific War.
