Tokusetsu Sokaibokan

About Tokusetsu-sokaibokan

The IJN called converted minesweeper tenders "Tokusetsu-sokaibokan". Their task was to engage in the service as a mother ship of Minesweepers and Tokusetsu-sokaitei. Four merchant ships were used as Tokusetsu-sokaibokan between 1937 and 1945. "Nihonkai Maru" was removed from the navy list before the outbreak of the Pacific War.
